HLTA for PPA & Leadership Cover

HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT (HLTA) – PPA & Leadership Cover

The role of the Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – PPA Cover is to work across the school to provide PPA release time for teachers, Phase Leaders in KS1 and KS2 and cover as and when required.

PURPOSE OF JOB

  • The role of the HLTA PPA Cover is to provide and deliver learning activities to whole classes of pupils when the class teacher is not present. The HLTA will plan, prepare and deliver lessons and assess, mark, record and report on development, progress and attainment, under the direction of subject co-ordinators.
  • To work independently with whole classes of pupils.
  • To be responsible for the management and development of a specialist area within the school, as agreed with the Curriculum Lead.

Nursery Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant with Early Years experience, who wants to be part of a supportive teaching team and is able to effectively collaborate. 

At St Johns C of E (VA) Primary School, we have a vacancy for a Nursery Teaching Assistant to work with the Nursery Class Teacher and Senior Teaching Assistant to create a provision that delivers our agreed Principles. 

Overall Job Purpose: 

To work collaboratively with the Nursery Class Teacher and Senior Teaching Assistant to deliver the curriculum to our Nursery aged children in line with the agreed Principles for St John’s Cherry Nursery. 

 The Principles for St John’s Cherry Nursery 

  1. A Nursery environment that reflects an ambitious curriculum and high expectations for all pupils in Cherry Nursery. 
  2. Provision which promotes and values learning through play 
  3. All adults to value positive interactions developing children’s: CLL (Communication and language), Personal, Social and Emotional development (PSED) and Physical development. In addition, to support the development of Literacy, Mathematics and Understanding of the World skills and knowledge.
  4. Collaboration that develops and values adult-to-adult and children’s relationships.
  5. Collaborative practise that prioritises the needs and interests of individual children and effective use of observations and next steps to meet these needs.
  6. Collaborative planning of provision and resourcing for all pupils through effective use of observation and assessment.
