School Admissions

The Governing Body is the Admissions Authority for this Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School. The Governors work closely with the Oxfordshire Local Authority (LA) to coordinate admissions.

Application for a Reception Place

Children are eligible to start full time education at St John the Evangelist CE VA Primary School in the September after their fourth birthday.

Admission to our school is by application. Parents wishing to apply for their child to join the Reception class must complete the common application form provided by their home local authority by the deadline provided. The home LA is the LA in whose area the parents live at the time of the application.

'The early years curriculum enthuses children. This is because staff carefully design
activities that spark children’s natural curiosity and creativity.' Ofsted 2020

Applications for Other Year Groups

For admission to year groups other than Reception, applications should be made to the Governing Body through the school office. The local authority coordinates in year admissions and the school works closely with them to review the applications that have been made. The governing body meet to review all applications and parents are advised of a decision within 10 school days of the meeting.
