Curriculum Overview

The curriculum at St John the Evangelist CE Primary School focuses on a whole school 'wondering' each term. This is a big question which we explore with the children. Using the children's ideas we plan the learning and experiences within each year group topic.

All topics start with a 'WOW' day to engage the children at the beginning of the term. Over the course of the year children across the school will take part in a range of trips linked to their curriculum work and benefit from visitors coming into school. In addition, over the course of the year, we hold theme days and weeks to enrich the curriculum. During these weeks children may, for example, work in mixed age groups with an artist in residence or a children's book author.

the importance of democracy, free speech and tolerance. OFSTED 2020
